Lights - Siberia Album

I'm not going to say much about this album other than state the fact that Lights Poxleitner did an amazing job. Overall, the feel of the album is quite different from her debut 'The Listening'. Siberia sounds something more reminiscent of her more recent Acoustic EP and as usual the songs are very polished. Surprisingly, I found it to have quite a broad appeal among peers and it was well received by people who generally did not enjoy the genre of electro-pop(?). There's really something to be said about a unique vocals, fun synths, and a honest personality.

That upbeat shit from Kansas's XV. Pusha T is a great addition to this track. Overall a great toon!

Ellie Goulding @ Kool Haus Tonight

Ellie Goulding has been riding a wave of much deserved success over the past few months. The British artist has long been supported by a small but very devoted group of fans, and this year, she successfully broke into the North American scene with such appearances like Saturday Night Live that have helped her gain attention over seas.

Here in Toronto tonight, she will be performing at the Kool Haus as a stop in her 'Lights Tour' and with a large audience here, the outlook for tonight is good. Hopefully, it will not be overshadowed by yesterdays OVO Fest, but this seems to be a bright start for a young artist. Tickets will be available at the door. Enjoy Toronto!

OVO Fest Delivered.

Simply put, the show was insane. With the entire Swaggfound on the ground, we were simply mesmerized by Drake's amazing stage presence. Besides that, the guest list was packed, with The Weeknd, Rick Ross, J. Cole, Nas, Stevie Wonder, and Lil Wayne electrifying the crowd. The audience was surreal with 'purple kushions' up in the sky and every lyric memorized.

It was an amazing night, with the hype well deserved. Drake really did know how to put up a hell of a show. Toronto, stand up.

With The Weeknd's debut passing by quickly, there has been many acts to follow. Odd Future has finally gained much deserved attention, Childish Gambino x Donald Glover has been building hype towards a new track of his, and finally to cap it all off... OVO Fest!

Frank Ocean is One Step from Mainstream.

With OFWGKTA making the mark they had hoped for so long. The leading artists of Odd Future can be considered to be Tyler the Creator and Frank Ocean. After the G.O.O.D. Music x OFWGKTA Collab with Pusha T and Tyler, the Odd Future appeal was solidified. Now here comes Frank, with one of the tracks that made him so popular; Novacane. Whats better than that track? The Weeknd Makes His Debut

This might be the 500th article about The Weeknd's debut, but remember, we've been in his camp since day one. 'House of Balloons' was actually our first post! Thinking back to last night, the crowd was amazing, it sort of brought the show along, Abel was clearly nervous.

The Crowd was Simply Electric.

It did not seem to deter the crowd though, the emotions that ran through the people in that room were powerful, at times Tesfaye just looked simply overwhelmed. He would actually step back and survey the crowd, but his songs continued as the audience filled in the blanks. More than anything, The Weeknd had finally arrived. He lived up to the hype, and despite some criticism, he proved that spending time into an album and looking for the right connection can pay off more than anything. Quite simply, Toronto is proud and with this, he really has proved himself in a way. More than anything though, much more is expected of him @OVO Fest. Good luck Abel Tesfaye.

SBTRKT x Drake Hit up Toronto!

Its going to be a busy month for the music industry. "Thursday" from The Weeknd is dropping, Drake is coming out for OVO Fest 2011, and new acts like SBTRKT at really coming out. The new generation has arguable arrived. SBTRKT is one of the latest and greatest acts to flourish recently, much helped by the Drake remix of his track "Wildfire" along with attention from other popular artists including Childish Gambino.

From what everyone is seen, he has been grateful and his work is extremely consistent. Last night, he hit up Wrongbar with Drizzy and lit up the crowd with "Wildfire"! Enjoy the video below, via ATF.

Drake x Trust Issues - Take Care

When Drake suddenly decided to back out of Arbitrage it was a moment of WTF?! over here at Swaggfound. Luckily, he has failed to disappoint us with releases from Take Care. I guess that perhaps he decided that instead of letting some asshole leak his album a week before, he might as well put it out slowly. This morning, a fresh track dropped from 'Take Care' titled "Trust Issues". Of them all, this is probably the smoothest of them all and by using the now famous "I'm on One" hook, its simply amazing. Like his previous track "Marvin's Room", its just another long night for Drizzy Drake. Enjoy!
